CauseVine ("we", "us") is a grant-writing service operated by Curtis Williams. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the cookies and similar technologies our website uses. If you have any questions, contact us at curtis@causevine.com.

1. Information we collect

• Information you give us. When you request a draft or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number (if provided), organization or business name, and the project, funder, and grant information you share so we can write your proposal.
• Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details through our login provider (Supabase).
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure fields — we never see or store your full card number. We receive only limited confirmation data (such as that a payment succeeded).
• Automatic information. Like most websites, our servers and service providers may log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed.

2. How we use your information

• To write, deliver, and discuss your grant proposal.
• To create and manage your account and let you return to view your proposal.
• To process payments and send receipts.
• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run CauseVine — currently Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts and data storage), Netlify (website hosting and form handling), and Google Fonts (typography). Each processes data on our behalf. We may also disclose information where required by law.

4. Artificial intelligence

We draft proposals with the help of AI tools, which are then reviewed, tailored, and fact-checked by a human before delivery. We use AI tools chosen and configured so that your information is not used to train their models. You are responsible for following each funder's rules on AI-assisted content, including any required disclosure.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We keep cookies to a minimum and do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The technologies we do use are:

• Essential / functional. Our login provider stores a session token in your browser (local storage) so you can stay signed in. This is required for accounts to work.
• Payment security. Stripe sets cookies that help detect and prevent fraud when you make a payment.
• Fonts. We load fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those files.

Because these are essential to providing the service you request, they are active when you use the relevant feature. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but some features (such as signing in or paying) may stop working.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time (see below).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email curtis@causevine.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take steps to protect your data and limit access to it.

9. Children

CauseVine is intended for organizations and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
